Biography

 

Matthias Guntner was born on August 21, 2002, in Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria. He began piano lessons at seven and studied under Stefan Gurtner from 2015 to 2021. At 15, he was introduced to Till Alexander Körber, professor at Anton Bruckner University in Linz, who mentored him in composition and music theory until 2021. He gained his first experience as a soundtrack composer at the young age of 16 as a member of Österreichischer Filmkreis, where he still serves as a board member today.

After graduating from school and completing community service, Guntner began studying composition and music theory with Dietmar Schermann at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2021. He currently specializes in media composition under Walter Werzowa, composer of the iconic 'Intel Bong', while also pursuing business studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

In 2025, his music was performed by the Bruckner Orchestra at St. Mary's Cathedral in Linz and at Musikverein Wien. The same year, his film music for "I'll Be In Touch" was part of the selection of the Music & Cinema film festival in Marseille. In 2024, he composed music for Red Bull Media House, recorded at prestigious Synchron Stage Vienna. Other collaborators include the Vienna Symphonic Library, Camo & Krooked, Beyond Skyrim, and ArdaCraft.
